COâ‚‚ conversion

That’s how a villain turns into an asset.

COâ‚‚ is one of the primary greenhouse gases driving climate change. But with the CO-Tool project, we’re turning a climate problem into industrial opportunity. Powered by €4 million and backed by a network of universities, innovative SMEs, and major industry players, CO-Tool (COâ‚‚: from a global problem to a Tool to implement circularity) is building a full circular value chain to capture and use COâ‚‚ as raw material for high-value products, from chemicals to advanced materials.
It’s a 25-month mission (ending October 2027) led by the University of Milano-Bicocca and funded by Regione Lombardia through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Our role: delivering Flownano’s nanostructured electrodes that drive the electrochemical conversion of COâ‚‚ into ethanol and other value-added outputs.
At the core of CO-Tool, three critical moves:
Capture
Pull COâ‚‚ from the atmosphere.
Utilization
Channel COâ‚‚ as productive feedstock for new industrial processes.
Conversion
Transform COâ‚‚ into high-value chemicals, putting circularity into action and shifting the sector from cost to opportunity.
A chain reaction with real reach—from construction to cosmetics, packaging to agriculture.
Powered by Flownano’s tech, COâ‚‚ conversion is a true spark for transformation.
