But current technologies fall short: limitations of storage duration, costs, environmental footprints, energy density. In this field, flow batteries emerge as the most suitable electrochemical option for energy storage. But flow batteries’ traditional electrodes force a trade-off: either high efficiency at high cost, or lower cost with lower performance.
