We’re excited to announce that the project “CO₂: from a global problem to a tool to implement circularity (CO-Tool)” has officially kicked off — and Flow-nano is proud to be part of it.
The project has been funded by the Lombardy Region with an investment of €4 million over 25 months, and is coordinated by the University of Milan-Bicocca. It brings together a strong network of universities, research centers, innovative companies, and industrial partners from across Lombardy.
Carbon dioxide is one of the main greenhouse gases driving climate change. CO-Tool aims to transform this challenge into a strategic opportunity, creating a complete value chain for CO₂ capture and utilization and turning it into a raw material for high-value products.
The project is structured along three key lines that together build a truly circular CO₂ pathway:
Capturing carbon dioxide already present in the atmosphere2
Using CO₂ directly as a feedstock for new production processes3
Electrochemically converting CO₂ into high added-value chemicals — the area where Flow-nano is actively contributing with our advanced nanostructured electrode!
These technologies have the potential to impact multiple sectors, from construction to cosmetics, packaging to agriculture — all strategic industries for a more sustainable future in Lombardy.
A big thank you to all the partners involved: University of Milan-Bicocca, University of Pavia, Graftonica, Azienda Agricola Allevi, Industria Termoplastica Pavese (ITP)
